About Me: Selena Sanchez, LAC, LAADC, ICAADC, SAP, PhD.

Selena Sanchez is an experienced mental health professional. She has both an Associate’s and Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice, a Master’s in Forensic Psychology, and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. While continuing her education, Selena has gained over 13 years of experience as a therapist in Denver across different subsects of psychotherapy.

Selena started her professional coaching journey working with the court-ordered population for substance abuse, DUIs, and domestic violence from 2010 to 2016. She has also gained extensive experience in mental health including depression, anxiety, trauma, borderline, bipolar, and more. Additionally, she has worked with clients with co-occurring disorders.

Selena gained further experience in mental health within these concentrations while completing her internship and practicum at the Colorado Department of Corrections (CDOC) with the incarcerated population from 2018 to 2019 while serving the DUI and domestic violence populations, and in private practice. This extensive experience with these populations has ignited a passion within Selena to help those struggling with addiction and those navigating the legal system.

Since 2014, Selena has been self-employed as a life coach and a registered psychotherapist in private practice. She has also been self-employed as a licensed addiction counselor since 2018. As she nears the completion of her doctorate degree, Selena’s main goal is to continue working with the court-ordered population while continuing her work as a Denver therapist to support the mental health needs of anyone who needs her services She is always looking for new opportunities to increase her mental health education and coaching skillsets to provide the most up-to-date services for her patients. As such, Selena consistently participates in continuing education (CE) courses and ongoing training.

For instance, Selena is continuing to grow her private practice and clinical expertise by becoming certified in neurofeedback therapy. She is currently working on getting credentialed in neurofeedback therapy to work in multiple states. She is also working towards IC&RC credentialing in addiction across multiple states to expand her scope of service to those in need of help. Selena is also working towards her SAP credentialing to perform return-to-duty evaluations as a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) for those in safety-sensitive employment positions.
